　　考查原因状语从句: 既然用since或now 表达。

　　2.答案: whether/if the conference will be held on time

　　详解:

　　考查宾语从句: 是否可用连接词whether或if。其中 if 和whether在 引导宾语从句时常在动词know，ask,care, wonder, find out等之后，但也有区别。介词后一般不用if; whether后可以加or not,但是if不可以;在不定式后只能用whether。
