German club SSV Ulm players are considering suing three former teammates in connection with a match-fixing investigation, it was reported on Bild online on Monday. Several players of the Ulm side, a regional fourth division team, want to file a lawsuit for loss of bonuses for pre-fixed defeats.
German prosecutors in Bochum, investigating match-fixing in nine European countries, believe two Ulm matches this season may have been influenced by suspects arrested in a match-rigging probe.
In both matches, Ulm lost 3-1, which resulted in the bonus reduction for players.
The club has dismissed the three players said to be involved in the affair.
Meanwhile a player with third-division VfL Osnabrueck has admitted receiving money to influence two matches last season, according to his lawyer.
Though Midfielder Marcel Schuon has denied doing anything during the matches to affect their outcome. Osnabrueck lost both matches, one by 3-0 as bets had been placed upon.
Around 200 games are under investigation in Europe including 32 in Germany. Four matches in the German second division and three in the third division are among those under suspicion.
