During summer holidays, two classmates, Tom and Peter, were traveling in the desert. As they were walking, they had an argument, and Tom was so angry that he slapped Peter hard across the face. Peter felt hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote down in the sand these words: “Today my best friend Tom slapped me in the face.”
It was very hot, but they kept on walking and walking until they found an oasis (绿洲),
where they decided to take a bath. Suddenly Peter got stuck in the mire (泥潭) and started drowning. Seeing that, Tom rushed over and saved him without any hesitation. After Peter got recovered from the drowning, he wrote with a knife on a stone: “Today my best friend Tom saved my life.”
Feeling curious, Tom, who had slapped and saved his best friend, asked Peter, “After I beat you, you wrote something in the sand but just now you put down what I had done on a stone. Why?”
Peter replied: “When someone hurts us, we should take it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must carve it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

Last autumn, Peking University released a name list of 39 high school principles who are recognized to recommend their students to be enrolled without taking national college entrance examination.
Some people think that it is a good experiment .They agree that it helps to recommend the students with comprehensive abilities and specialties and it can free some students from dealing with all sorts of tests.Besides, it can gradually change the current single college enrollment method by a national exam.
On the other hand , some people oppose it.They hold the view that it is unfair to the rest of the students, and in some ways, high school principles’ rights are far from regulation now. They are afraid that something against law will occur among their practice .
In my opinion, I think that it is an experiment of enrollment reform and it provides us with two channels to find out a more reasonable measure in college students enrollments. It is really worth trying .
