China has become car crazy. Bad traffic situation pissed me off every day. Living in Beijing you have to face a massive traffic jam and I promise this situation will take a hundred years to clear up. Every days gridlock in the city is normal. Going a dozen blocks can take an hour during rush hour.
The worst one I have encountered was the day before the Mid-Autumn Festival this year. Normally I can go back home from the centre of the city in an hour, but that day I was stuck in the traffic jam. It puzzled me why cars completely stop on the highway when there were no accidents or other apparent reasons to stop. Why didnt people just keep driving? It drove me crazy! Finally, an hours trip took me 6 hours and I definitely believe that every time it comes to the traffic in Beijing it would be a tragedy since then.
